3 German violinist Carolin Widmann has received the 2020 Duisburg City Music Prize, worth €10,000. The annual award celebrates outstanding achievements in the field of music and commitment to arts and culture in the German city. Widmann was Duisburg’s artist-in-residence from 2012 until 2013 and has appeared on many occasions with the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Due to its ceremony being cancelled in November 2020, the award was given to Widmann in absentia.
