1 South Korean cellist Tae-Yeon Kim, 18, has won the first prize in the Witold Lutosławski International Cello Competition, receiving €20,000 and further concert engagements. Second prize of €10,000 was awarded to Polish cellist Maria Leszczyńska, 25, and the third prize of €5,000 to Polish cellist Antoni Wrona, 20.

2 The Los Angeles-based Azura Trio has been awarded the grand prize at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, receiving $15,000 as well as the gold medal and $5,000 in the senior category. The trio comprises Canadian violinist Duncan McDougall, 21, South Korean cellist Yejin Hong, 27, and Chinese pianist Yanfeng (Tony) Bai, 25. The silver medal and $4,000 were awarded to the New York-based Hesper Quartet, and the bronze medal with $3,000 to the Philadelphia-based Erinys Quartet.

3 The Seoul-based Arete Quartet has won the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition, receiving €10,000. The quartet comprises first violinist Chaeann Jeon, 26, second violinist Eunjoong Park, 23, violist Yoonsun Jang, 28, and cellist Seonghyeon Park, 30, all from South Korea. Second prize of €6,000 went to the New York-based Hesper Quartet, and the third prize of €4,000 to the Paris-based Varen Quartet

4 The Concert Artists Guild (CAG) has announced the winners of its Louis and Susan Meisel Competition, who will join the CAG roster. The string victors are Brazilian violinist Nathan Amaral, 28, US–Canadian cellist Leland Ko, 25, and the Cincinnati-based Poiesis Quartet, comprising first violinist Sarah Ma, 21, second violinist Max Ball, 22, violist Jasper de Boor, 23, and cellist Drew Dansby, 23, all from the US.
